Production and Maintenance Technician

What You’ll Be Doing: Complies with established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.Supports and follows the guidelines of the food safety system.Performs duties as required to insure compliance with the plant's quality standards.Leads personnel in the on-floor efforts for the operation and maintenance of production equipment.Performs various manual or mechanical production functions by operating, adjusting, and repairing the production equipment to meet customer specifications.Evaluates and determines specific areas to be addressed during routine maintenance scheduled downtimes.Disassembles, overhauls, and rebuilds production equipment.Performs troubleshooting on production equipment as required.Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment as required.Performs on-the-job training and development of assigned personnel.Conducts inspection of in-process materials and in-process and finished product.Responsible for replenishing supplies, materials, parts, and tooling required for assigned area.Performs record keeping duties as required under the direction of management.Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from the computer.Communicates pertinent information to nextPerforms clean-up, painting, and housekeeping duties.Reviews SOPs and control plans relevant to their area on a regular basis.Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.At Sonoco Products Company, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive pay and benefits. *Benefits listed below are for employees located in the U.S. Specific benefits and wellbeing programs may vary depending on your location (within the U.S. or global), or if you are a union employee.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents, including FSA and HSA options401(k) retirement plan with company matchWel...
