PyTorch Engineer

Salary Range: 260,400 - 352,200 Subject to alignment to the responsibilities and duties of the role About the job Make PyTorch feel native, powerful and production ready on Graphcore AI compute. You will build the software layer that connects Graphcore accelerators with leading machine learning frameworks. Your work will shape how engineers run real workloads at scale.You will improve performance, design new features and support users pushing hardware to its limits. You will work deeply in PyTorch, with scope across other frameworks as the ecosystem evolves. You will maintain core code, review changes and contribute to documentation and upstream communities. You will also help manage complexity, quality and delivery across a fast moving codebase. This role offers deep technical ownership and influence over direction. You will help unlock the next generation of AI breakthroughs through better software. The team and culture The Frameworks team connects Graphcore hardware with tools engineers already use, including PyTorch, Triton, JAX and TensorFlow. Work is grounded in real use cases, performance goals and developer experience. Teams operate through Scrum, with clear ownership from design to delivery, testing and support. Engineers are expected to speak up, challenge ideas and move work forward. Decisions are based on evidence, code quality and user impact. You will collaborate across teams and with open source communities to deliver reliable, high performance software. What we’re looking for · Strong software engineering skills, with the judgement to manage quality, complexity and delivery.· Experience developing in Python.· Experience building performant C++ applications in a commercial setting.· Experience in at least one of ML kernels, compiler development, ML frameworks or computationally intensive engineering.· Ability to coordinate complex technical tasks with cross-team dependencies.· Clear communication, ownership and curiosity about high performance software.
