The Road Diesel Technician is a technician who preferably has experience in the heavy equipment industry. This person will be required to have mechanical expertise, including diesel, to support the needs of the branch in a professional, safe, and timely manner. You will be performing maintenance services, including repairs for diesel-run equipment. You will be performing maintenance services, including repairs on the road and in the shops. ***This position includes membership of the IUOE Local 4 Union. Read job orders Observe and listen to equipment in operation to resolve malfunction issues and execute work procedures effectively. Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined. Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and adjust as needed. Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly. Tag all warranty parts and return them to the warranty clerk. Attend training classes and keep tabs on factory technical bulletins. Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer happiness. Properly complete the service and/or repairs assigned by the supervisor.
