Meet the Team The Cisco Wireless Feature & System Engineering team builds end-to-end wireless capabilities across access points, controllers, and cloud-managed platforms. We design features that span device software, control planes, and management systems to deliver seamless, secure, and high-performance enterprise Wi-Fi.Your Impact As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will lead development of key software components and subsystems for wireless access points. You will drive design decisions, ensure high-quality implementation, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable and reliable systems. In this role:Lead design and development of software subsystems and featuresDrive architectural decisions within your area of ownershipDebug and resolve complex issues across multiple layers (networking, OS, system)Collaborate with platform, radio, QA, and cloud teams for system integrationOptimize performance, scalability, and reliability of the systemMentor junior engineers and provide technical guidanceLeverage and promote AI-assisted development practices within the teamMinimum Qualifications Have 7+ years of experience in embedded or systems software developmentStrong expertise in C/C++ and software designDeep understanding of Linux systems and networking protocols (TCP/IP, L2/L3)Experience designing and owning subsystems or large featuresStrong debugging skills across system layersAbility to influence design and execution across teamsInterest in system-level optimization and scalabilityPreferred Qualifications Experience with wireless systems and Wi-Fi featuresExperience with performance tuning and large-scale deploymentsFamiliarity with distributed or cloud-managed systemsExperience using AI tools to improve development workflows#wirelesshiring Why Cisco? At Cisco, we’re revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era – and beyond.
