Acting as a manager of managers, this role leads multiple Engineering Managers, shapes the organizational structure, drives hiring and talent development, and establishes clear ownership and accountability across engineering teams. } } ; { your_responsibilities: [ Lead and grow a manager‑of‑managers layer: hire, coach, and develop founding Engineering Managers and create clear career pathways across the Valencia site. Own the engineering operating system: establish and enforce standards for code review, testing, CI/CD, architecture review, observability, and incident handling. Drive multi‑team delivery from discovery through MVP and production hardening, resolving cross‑team dependencies and maintaining release discipline. Build a modular, reusable business‑banking platform that accelerates future use cases and reduces duplicated implementation effort. Ensure service reliability, performance, security, auditability, and operational readiness for customer‑facing mobile and backend systems. Partner with Product, Design, Security, Architecture, and Compliance to align priorities and deliver customer value. Represent Valencia engineering in site‑building, talent planning, and leadership alignment with the Head of Valencia. ] } ; { following_qualifications_would_be_in_line_with_our_desired_profile_for_this_position: [ Proven experience as a manager of managers, directly leading and developing multiple Engineering Managers across teams. Demonstrable track record of multi‑team product engineering leadership (not only project/delivery management). Concrete examples of hiring, performance management, and building quality systems (scorecards, calibration, promotion decisions). Credible engineering depth: experience making technical trade‑offs, influencing architecture, and explaining technical decisions to engineers and non‑technical stakeholders. Hands‑on experience with engineering standards and platforms: CI/CD rollout, automated testing, observability, and incident response processes. Experience operating within regulated environments (security, compliance, audit readiness) or equivalent domain experience. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to create psychological safety and coach managers. Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are a plus. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), Kubernetes, and containerised deployments (nice-to-have).
