About the Role We’re hiring a founding engineer and technical lead for a portfolio of AI-assisted learning and enablement tools. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for architecture, development, infrastructure, and mentoring as the team grows. You’ll partner closely with subject-matter experts and instructional designers to ensure the platform is secure, scalable, and maintainable. Work model: based on this role’s business requirements, this is a remote position open to qualified applicants based in Romania. What You’ll Do Own cross-project architecture, including data models, authentication, access control, logging, and deployment Set and enforce code review and architectural standards Build and maintain async Python services over PostgreSQL Own CI/CD, DevOps processes, and release strategy Manage infrastructure (databases, VMs, storage, backups, observability) Develop a governed data-to-content pipeline for AI-driven knowledge generation Implement cybersecurity and responsible AI controls Mentor and support team development What You’ll Bring At least 5 years of strong async Python and modern web framework experience PostgreSQL data modeling and optimization Modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES modules) Web security (OIDC/OAuth2, JWT, RBAC) API design for scalable HTTP/JSON services Git and CI/CD expertise Experience integrating LLM APIs and handling structured outputs Experience parsing structured/unstructured content (PDF, DOCX, HTML, etc.) Comfort working across databases, object storage, and Git Docker, Linux, and Bash fundamentals Interest in AI pipeline evaluation and observability Strong learning mindset and collaborative approach Bonus Skills C# / .NET / PowerShell (review level) Node.js for tooling and document generation Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) Model Context Protocol (MCP) Programmatic document/presentation generation What You’ll Get 21 annual vacation days, additional days based on tenure, plus 4 extra global VeeaMe Days for self-care and 24 paid volunteer hours annually through Veeam Cares Private health, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents, including outpatient care, hospitaliz...
