Within ER, the Philanthropy team leads on the organization’s work with High-Net-Worth Individuals and planned giving donors.Job Overview:The Senior Officer, Planned Giving, will work with donors and prospects in an assigned geography across the Eastern US to ensure an increased number of legacy gift commitments and a growing and engaged legacy society. Accountable for securing and sustaining planned gifts, they will work directly with prospects and donors and Philanthropy colleagues to ensure a healthy financial future for our humanitarian work. This may entail generating new leads; soliciting donors for planned gifts; building positive relationships to steward legacy donors; crafting and implementing cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies to connect with and inspire planned giving donors and prospects; advising colleagues on collaborations; and reporting results of efforts.The Senior Officer will be expected to understand the needs of older donors and prospects, communicate and connect superbly with colleagues and supporters, use knowledge of various gift planning instruments to assist colleagues and donors, continue to learn about IRC programs, think strategically, offer creative solutions, and manage systems to grow and improve the IRC’s donor relationships and prospecting with high wealth individuals and families.Additionally, the Senior Officer will be expected to work directly with other development officers, ER colleagues, and local area leadership to increase awareness about planned giving, create education opportunities, and collaborate on planned giving strategies and asks for appropriate donors across Major and Principal Giving portfolios in the East.Major Responsibilities:Develop and manage a large portfolio of planned gift prospects and donors.Provide timely follow-up to new marketing leads to educate prospects, creating new planned gifts for the IRC. Craft and implement meaningful engagement opportunities for planned giving donors and prospec...
