Senior Project Manager, Design and Construction (Waterfront)

Our Vision: To make New York City the global model for inclusive innovation and economic growth, fueled by the City’s diverse people and businesses.    Our Mission: Creating a vibrant, inclusive, and globally competitive economy for all New Yorkers.  The Asset Management Design & Construction (AMDC) department is responsible for capital improvements and development of all revenue-generating assets NYCEDC maintains and/or operates.   Position Overview: The Senior Project Manager will manage a portfolio of design and construction projects across NYCEDC’s Cruise portfolio, which includes the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal and Manhattan Cruise Terminal. While these assets primarily function as cruise terminals, they also support a range of flexible uses, including office spaces, transportation operations, event programming, and freight distribution.   This role requires close coordination with asset managers and other stakeholders to ensure assets are fully operational while advancing capital improvements. The Senior Project Manager will also play a key role in developing and implementing a long-term redevelopment plan for a modernized cruise facility.   The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for managing projects throughout the full development lifecycle, including capital planning, design, and construction, across multiple NYCEDC assets. Project types may include new construction, renovations, major infrastructure, waterfront infrastructure, and public open space.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Review facility condition reports and inspection findings; conduct site assessments and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and scope capital needs in alignment with NYCEDC objectives.  Support capital planning efforts, including the long-term capital plans and annual budgets across NYCEDC’s asset portfolio.  Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, including procurement of architecture, engineering, and construction teams to existing conditions assessments, programming, feasibility studies, estimating and budgeting, schematic design through construction documentation, regulatory submissions and approvals, bidding, construction, and project close-out.   Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects and contracts, ensuring coordination across stakeholders and accountability throughout the development process.  Monitor project performance, including schedule, scope, and budget; conduct site visits, track progress, and proactively resolve issues in coordination with operations and senior...
