Senior Staff Quality Engineer - SDET
Strength in Trust
OneTrust’s mission is to enable innovation through the responsible use of data and AI. We believe that ensuring data is trusted shouldn’t slow teams down—it should accelerate what’s possible. This led us to develop the first technology platform for responsible data use in 2016. Today, with AI representing the latest and most impactful expansion of data yet, OneTrust is once again redefining what responsible innovation looks like. OneTrust, the AI‑Ready Governance Platform™, unifies regulatory intelligence, automation, and connected governance workflows so businesses can continue to move at the speed of AI while ensuring good governance to prevent data misuse at scale. Trusted by thousands of organizations worldwide, OneTrust is shaping the future where trusted data becomes a transformative force for business and society.
The Challenge
- OneTrust is building the AI-Ready Governance Platform™ to help organizations build trust, manage risk, and use data and AI responsibly. Our platform brings together privacy automation, consent and preferences, data use governance, AI governance, tech risk and compliance, and third-party management across connected, cloud-based workflows.
- As a Senior Staff Quality Engineer, SDET, you will define the quality engineering strategy that enables OneTrust to scale this platform with confidence. You will shape how we validate integrated customer journeys, protect trust-critical data and workflows, and release reliable capabilities across a broad product portfolio. This role is for an experienced technical leaderwho can solve significant, unique problems requiring independent judgment, evaluation of intangible factors, and the creation of methods and procedures for specialized, high-stakes initiatives.
Your Mission
Quality Strategy for Trust-Critical Products
- Define automation architecture, quality strategy, and release-validation practices across OneTrust’s connected product portfolio. Establish how teams test end-to-end workflows that span privacy, risk, data, compliance, integrations, and customer-facing experiences.
AI-First and Agent-Native Quality Engineering
- Help OneTrust evolve toward an AI-native, specification-driven SDLC in which quality is designed in from discovery through production. Define practical approaches for validating AI-enabled features, AI agents, and agentic workflows—including tool use, orchestration, context management, guardrails, observability, evaluation, reliability, and safe human decision points.
Quality Standards at Scale
- Set organization-wide standards for coverage, pass rate, determinism, defect escape, deployment validation, production feedback, and release readiness. Turn quality signals into actionable engineering confidence across squads and product lines.
Mobile, Cloud, and Integrated-System Testing
- Own the strategy for mobile application testing, cloud-based test platforms, API and contract validation, and observability across distributed systems. Ensure test architecture reflects the realities of OneTrust’s global, integrated SaaS environment.
Mentorship and Global Technical Leadership
- Mentor Staff-level SDETs, conduct peer reviews at scale, and elevate automation practice across the organization. Lead quality-practice collaboration with distributed and offshore teams across multiple geographies.
You Are/Have
- A hands-on quality engineering leader who can get to the bottom of the hardest automated failures across an integrated environment, identify customer and release risk, and alert the right teams. You are comfortable operating in ambiguity, improving long-running deployment and validation workflows, and setting a higher bar for engineering quality.
- You are also an AI-first practitioner who uses modern tools to increase leverage without lowering standards. You know when AI or an agent can accelerate analysis and execution, when human review is required, and how to create measurable quality gates for AI-enabled software.
OneTrust-Specific Impact
