You will be working on the Marketing AI Team - our goal is to enable AI transformation for the entire marketing organisation in Remitly. We do this by building a foundation layer for other products and tools to use. You'll work across the stack and across domains. This role is for someone who sees a vague problem or a blank roadmap, and thinks “great, my favorite.”You are not a superhero. We don't need one of those. We need someone who's clearly in the superhero origin-story arc, the part of the movie where they're figuring out their powers and only occasionally setting things on fire.You'll make important decisions, mostly on your own based on data and conversations with our partners. We work in a Kanban but we don't follow the methodology strictly. The engineering team is located in Kraków and reports to local Engineering Manager. We are working in hybrid work model, when everyone is expected to be in the office at least 50% of the time, calculated monthly.You will:Own problems end to end - from talking to partners to understand what's actually needed, to shipping and making sure it holds up in production.Make autonomous calls on architecture, tradeoffs, and priorities, then defend them to partners with data instead of vibes.Work directly with people across the business, translating fuzzy requests into end products.Use AI tooling as a genuine force multiplier in your daily work, while maintaining the critical eye to catch when it's making things up with great confidence.Dig into data when decisions need evidence, querying, analyzing, and drawing conclusions that hold up.Grow into the kind of engineer other people quietly hope gets assigned to their project.You have:3+ years of engineering experience, ideally the kind that left some scars and good stories.Proficiency in at least one backend language with strong preferences towards Go.Hands-on experience working with data: querying it, wrangling it, and interpreting it.Fluency and real experience working wi...
