But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.At the moment, this role is focused on:Solving challenges no one’s solved before, with access to state-of-the-art tooling, models and infrastructure.Building and enhancing AI tooling infrastructure, including our MCP implementations and internal AI enabled CLIs, to provide Canva-specific context to AI toolsBeing part of researching and developing high-value AI paved paths, including multi-agent AI orchestration, to go beyond code generation to enhance one or multiple parts of the Canva SDLCKeeping Canva close to the bleeding edge by industry research and 3rd party AI tooling trial, including evaluation, success metrics, and adoption.Helping troubleshoot complex AI tooling issues across both Platform and ProductCodify and share technical knowledge through documentation and presentationsProviding technical expertise by identifying knowledge gaps and lifting team capabilitiesCreating and maintaining technical documentation for AI tooling adoptionLearning from senior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of our AI tooling ecosystemYou're probably a match ifYou have strong experience with the Python and/or Go programming languagesYou have experience in AI tooling for software engineering (Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, etc.)You have an understanding of APIs, integrations, and developer toolingYou have familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and the overall SDLCYou have the ability to implement solutions from technical specifications and collaborate effectively with senior engineersYou have strong communication skills and ability to document technical work clearlyYou have the eagerness to learn about LLMs, AI agents, MCPs, and prompt engineeringAbout the Group and TeamJoin the DevX (Developer Experience) group at Canva, where our goal is to empower engineers to do their best work.
