The Field Technician will be responsible for assigned aspects of the maintenance and operation of utility scale PV power plant. Duties include monitoring PV Plant operation through SCADA, commissioning, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying AC and DC solar PV systems, including inverters, PV module arrays, transformers, switchgear, trackers, and metering systems. Additionally, this position is responsible for the supervision of contractors to ensure safe, high quality and timely performance of maintenance activities in the field.  Key Responsibilities Ensure a safe work environment through strict adherence to company and client protocols, safety procedures and regulations. Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and safe best practices (e.g. lock-out/tag-out compliance, JHA completion, and compliance with all company safety policies or procedures and work practices). Attend, participate in and pass all assigned training in safety, environmental and other areas assigned. Understanding of electrical safety, local and national electrical codes and arc flash standards. Proficient understanding of Electrical schematics and electrical principles. Always maintain integrity and follow Arevon safety policies and procedures. Perform varying corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance for solar PV systems. Perform onsite installations, repairs, and troubleshooting. Carry out site root analysis and apply root cause analysis techniques on all major and recurring faults. Investigate technical failures and prepare formal technical reports. Collaborate with internal Arevon teams to collect and produce data for various agencies that require reporting documents (NERC, EPA, OSHA, etc.). Ability to create and follow operating, switching, maintenance, safety, and environmental procedures. Proficient understanding of Electrical schematics and electrical principles. Ability to perform testing, switching and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage equipment, including transformers, breakers, relays, contactors, motors, trackers, DC array and inverters to name a few.
