Job Description

Job Title: Sous Chef

Location: Richmond Village Letcome, South Street, Letcombe Regis, OX12 9RG

Salary: £15.65 per hour & Starter Bonus of £1,000*

Contract: Full Time 40hrs

Shift: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week), working across 4 days (4 x 10-hour shifts). Shifts fall between 07:00 and 20:00

NO SPLIT SHIFTS & NO LATE NIGHTS

Should you be successfully hired into this role, we are pleased to be able to offer you a one-off Starter Bonus of £1000 as a thank you for deciding to join Bupa Care Services. The Starter Bonus will be paid to you in the next available pay run once you have completed four weeks’ service and will be subject to deductions for tax and NI. Ts &Cs Apply

As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting Head Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. This is a fantastic chance for someone ready to take the next step in their career, bringing creativity, leadership, and a passion for food to a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

You’ll help us make health happen by

Catering to residents across the Village which comprises of the care home, catering for serviced suites, villagers who have booked a meal in the Restaurant/Spa or for meals to be taken across to their apartments or for other specific events

Prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations

Be aware of residents, villagers and Wellness Spa clients’ dietary needs - responding to their comments and requests in respect of the menu

Be involved in the preparation and serving of the meals on the hotplate, as required

Ensuring that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention paid to perishable (high risk) goods

Ensuring a welcoming, safe and compliant environment for our residents to dine in

Helping to maintain a clean and hygienic working area.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role

Passionate about food, you’ll have experience working in a professional kitchen, ideally catering for customers with special dietary requirements. An understanding of health and safety procedures, ideally with an NVQ or equivalent City & Guilds and CIEH Level 2 Food Safety Award or Equivalent.
