Job Title

Sr Director, Product Management, Merchant Capital

What does a successful Sr. Director, Product Management for Merchant Capital?

As the Senior Director of Product Management for Merchant Capital, you will define the overarching product vision and multi-year strategy to help SMBs manage cashflow for their businesses. You will lead, mentor, and grow a team of Product Managers dedicated to solving complex merchant cash flow and financing needs.

Operating at the strategic intersection of fintech, commerce, and product growth, you will champion the end-to-end merchant lifecycle across all platforms (device, web, and mobile)—owning executive alignment, multi-generational roadmaps, and business performance metrics to reshape how merchants manage their financial health.

What you will do

Product Strategy, Vision & Roadmap

Define Multi-Year Strategy: Establish the strategic product vision, multi-generational roadmaps, and portfolio priorities for Clover’s Capital products and lending capabilities.

End-to-End Lifecycle Ownership: Drive the full product lifecycle from market discovery and opportunity sizing through launch, scale, and continuous optimization across web, mobile, and in-person POS channels.

Business Case & Commercial Viability: Build executive-level business cases—including financial models, opportunity sizing, ROI analysis, and monetization strategies—to align capital and resource allocation behind high-impact growth initiatives.

Data-Driven Discovery: Leverage deep data analytics, merchant feedback, and market research to identify structural cash flow friction and evaluate Build vs. Buy vs. Partner/Integrate expansion strategies.

People Leadership & Executive Alignment

People Management & Coaching: Hire, manage, develop, and retain a high-performing team of Product Managers. Provide clear direction, foster career growth, and establish operational excellence across product squads.

Cross-Functional Portfolio Guidance: Oversee and empower product managers in their daily execution—guiding sprint prioritization, backlog grooming, user story definition, and cross-functional dependency management without needing to act as a tactical Scrum Lead yourself.

Executive Stakeholder Alignment: Partner closely with executive leadership (C-suite, Business Unit Heads, Engineering VPs) to communicate vision, present progress against strategic KPIs, and secure cross-functional commitments across Product...
