For more information about the Bank, please visit the Bank’s website at MCBankNY.com.   Position summary: Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant is to support the corporate controller’s team. This will include processing month end procedures and balance sheet reconciliations. The ideal candidate is a “self-starter”, with the ability to work independently with limited supervision, keeping all relevant parties apprised of developments. This person must also fit well in our small company work environment. Standard 4-day in-office requirement, 1 day remote (of your choosing) Essential functions and responsibilities Prepare month end close procedures on a timely basis which includes preparing journal entries in the general ledger and analyzing variances in account balances. Perform assigned daily and monthly balance sheet reconciliations in M-Files and promptly investigate and clear reconciling items. This involves ongoing communication with various groups within the company, including the Loan Servicing Team, Cash and Deposit Operations, and Human Resources. Perform the OFAC compliance review over new vendors and regular vendor listing. Contribute to special projects and ad hoc requests.
