Staff Manufacturing Engineer
About the role:The Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for leading the measurement and analysis of manufacturing processes, developing processes and related tooling, implementing standard operating procedures, driving continuous improvements in the factory, implementing new technologies, leading and supporting long term initiatives, teaching best practices for engineering and factory execution, and mentoring more junior members of the Manufacturing Engineering Team. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer’s scope of responsibility covers the end-to-end production process (material preparation, assembly, testing, and shipment preparation) and the factory’s interaction with external departments.What you’ll do:New Product Introduction: Provide detailed assessments and critical DFM reviews of new products and process designInterface with cross-functional engineering teams to review manufacturing feasibility and perform impact assessmentsTranslate high level product requirements and customer requests into actionable factory level actionsEnable factory infrastructure, processes and shop floor control systems to manufacture new products and onboard new customersFacilitate new product handoffs to mass productionProcess Development: Design, develop and implement new product manufacturing processesPrioritize process flexibility to accommodate rapid and diverse product turnoverDesign layouts of the factory floor for improved process flow, ergonomics, and efficiencyGenerate and maintain process documentation like PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Charts, Value Stream MapsContinuous Improvement: Collect and analyze key production metrics such as cycle time and yield to identify opportunities for process or quality improvementsPerform manufacturing and engineering support activities like 6S, Lean Manufacturing, process improvementsFactory Support:Root cause and efficiently resolve factory interruptionsLead the proposal and initiation and implementation of corrective actionsManage schedule and budget of projectsDocument, escalate, and improve issues reported by factory teamAssist with improving support management systemsWhat you bring:Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or related field6+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with and passion for Continuous Improvement, Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologiesCapability to apply technical expertise in changeable or varied scenariosProblem-solving skills with an emphasis on collaboration and flexibilityAnalytical skills, including the ability to mine data to draw meaningful conclusionsFamiliarity with Data Analytics best practicesAbility to simplify complex issues for diverse audiencesAbility to consolidate information from numerous sources into a plan/direction for the organizationExperience with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, and Word)Ability to prioritize projects and deliverables in a fast-paced environmentE...
