A subsidiary of MassMutual, Barings maintains a strong global presence with business and investment professionals located across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Associate to join our in-house global tax team.  This position will support federal and state income tax compliance, with a specialized focus on Form 1065, U.S. Return of Partnership Income.  In this position, you will also gain exposure to complex investment fund structures, capital allocations, and transaction modeling.  The position will reside in our corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC, reporting to the Director of U.S. Tax.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:Management company Form 1065 preparation support, including assistance with state tax filingsPartner capital account maintenance and basis calculations supportCalculation of management company quarterly taxable income estimates and tax distributions supportFederal and state tax law researchQuarterly ASC740 reporting for fund structuresCollection and reconciliation of portfolio companies Schedules K-1Tax notice support for the management company and fundsFATCA/CRS reporting and related tax operations support for fundsUse tax and property tax filings for the management companyPartner effectively with external and internal auditors, Accounting. Treasury, Product Management, Legal, FP&A, and other teams across the enterpriseIdentify, recommend, and implement opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline tax processes, including leveraging AI-enabled tools and technologies where appropriateQualificationsCPA (or CPA candidate) with at least 2+ years of relevant experience in public accounting or financial servicesUndergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline is required; a Master’s degree in Accounting and/or previous experience in public accounting strongly preferredExcellent accounting and analytical skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrate ability to collaborate across teams on c...
