Valuation Control, Director
We’re seeking someone to join our Valuation Control team as a Valuation Risk Controller in Global Corporate Controls & Planning to provide an independent valuation assessment across the entire spectrum of financial instruments, ranging from vanilla products to the most complex structured and derivative transactions. This process involves the certification of models and their valuation methodologies, testing for adherence to such methodologies, evaluating internal valuation marks against external benchmarks, identification and resolution of valuation discrepancies, and communicating a valuation assessment to senior trading and Finance management. The team is also involved in the continuous enhancements of the valuation control infrastructure with a view towards global and cross-product standardization.In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm’s financial and capital resources. This is an Associate level position within the within our Corporate Controllers, Reporting & Accounting Job Family which is responsible for the accuracy and control of the Firm’s books and records to produce the consolidated firm, segment and legal entities financial statements, including development, management and oversight of financial accounting & reporting systems as well as database management, including capital and liquidity reporting and external reporting functions.Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.What you'll do in the role:Be a member of Asia Equity coverage Valuation Control team based in Hong KongExecute independent price verification (IPV) across a wide range of equity trading products (e.g stocks, futures, CBs, EBs TRSs, vanilla and exotic derivatives)Communicate with traders regularly to discuss IPV as part of both daily and month end valuation controlsWork closely with traders, Strats (quants) and global counterparts to enhance marking methodologies and valuation adjustments for model inputs (e.g forward, volatility, correlation and other exotics parameters)Contribute to deliverables for global regulators (e.g ECB, PRA, JFSA)Work with other functions such as Product Control and Market Risk, to continuously monitor the valuation risk of the businessKeep track of equity markets across Asia, following market movements and reflecting market dynamics into our valuation framework as appropriateWhat you'll bring to the role: Strong bachelor or above in financial/quantitative major such as mathematics, physics, economics, engineering or other relevant fieldsMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in equity (derivatives) valuation or relevant fields such as product control or risk managementDeep understanding of financial products and derivative pricing theoriesExcellent En...
