This hybrid position supports the technical delivery of water resources, wastewater, and environmental projects across Woolpert's Water & Energy Utilities Market. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with engineers, scientists, planners, GIS specialists, and data analysts to help clients solve complex water resources and environmental challenges.
Projects may include environmental monitoring, stormwater planning and design, hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling, surface water quality assessments, asset management, resilience planning, data analytics, and related engineering studies.
This role offers a unique opportunity to combine field experience, technical analysis, and client-focused problem solving while contributing to meaningful water resources projects throughout Florida and the Southeast.
Responsibilities
- Participate in field investigations, environmental monitoring, asset assessments, and data collection activities in freshwater, marine, and municipal environments.
- Independently perform field assignments following training and established procedures, including data collection, site documentation, equipment operation, and field troubleshooting.
- Support the planning, design, analysis, and implementation of stormwater, wastewater, and water resources projects.
- Conduct technical analyses and prepare engineering calculations, reports, maps, exhibits, and project deliverables.
- Assist with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, system evaluations, and infrastructure assessments.
- Utilize engineering, GIS, and data management tools to support project objectives and client needs.
- Perform assigned project tasks in accordance with established scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, GIS professionals, and project managers.
- Support adherence to Woolpert's quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) standards.
- Proactively communicate project risks, technical challenges, and schedule impacts to project leadership.
- Assist with client interactions, meetings, presentations, and project coordination efforts.
- Provide mentorship and technical support to junior staff as experience grows.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
