Weld Repair Operator 3rd Shift
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPerform Weld Repair on metal components using MIG methodsUse of checking fixtures and other measuring and gauging equipment to test and determine compliance to customer requirements.Responsible for counting and labelling of finished components and the recording of all appropriate production information.Enter accurate information into inventory system using bar coding scanners as requiredEnsure all production paperwork is filled out accurately and on-timeAbility to follow oral and written instruction, and provide clear communication to co-workers and supervisionResponsible to check assemblies to fixtures, gauges, tools or visual inspection aids (i.e. inspection instructions, operator instructions etc.)Follows Control Plans and works in accordance with Company, Quality & Safety specificationsEnsures work area and machines are clean and safe at all times.Responsible for pointing out problems and concerns on quality, productivity or safety related matters.Performs minor maintenance tasks such as tip changes, tool changes, and set-up of equipment.Performs finished goods inspection per control plan and operator instructionsWork in a safe manner at all timesWorks in compliance with IATF(formerly TS 16949) and ISO14001 standards.BASIC REQUIREMENTSInterested to work on 3rd shift.Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)Experience with MIG WeldingHolds an AWS Certification is a plus.Two (2) years related experience in an automotive manufacturing or similar manufacturing environment is a plusThe ability to safely operate any and all equipment as necessaryDemonstrate the ability to work as part of a team or on single operationsStrong attention to detail and accuracyMust be flexible with working hoursAbility to read, write and speak EnglishTRAINING/DISQUALIFICATIONAssociates, who receive a job transfer/promotion will be trained and evaluated in their new position. The actual length of training is dependent upon the position/job assigned and the individuals’ ability to learn and perform the required duties. During the training period, the associates’ performance typically will be evaluated and a performance evaluation completed at 30, 60 and 90-day intervals. Criterion utilized for the performance evaluation process may include but is not limited to: compliance with safety and quality standards/procedures, job knowledge, dependability/adaptability, resourcefulness, team work, productivity, and housekeeping 6S. If an individual needs further training or improvement at the conclusion of the 90-day evaluation period the training/job evaluation period may be extended an additional 30 days. Promoted/transferred individuals are expected to maintain a satisfactory level of performance in all areas of evaluation.
