Disney beat fiscal Q3 estimates as U.S. parks and streaming offset softer international tourism.
Why it matters: The results offer a read on whether U.S. consumers are still spending on travel and entertainment. They also highlight a split between domestic park demand and weaker international visitation.
- Disney reported fiscal third-quarter 2026 results on Aug. 5 before the market opened.
- Experiences operating income rose 20% to $3.02 billion on revenue of $9.97 billion.
- Domestic parks operating income increased 27% as U.S. attendance rose 3% year over year.
- Streaming revenue from Disney+ and Hulu rose 11% to $5.53 billion.
Disney said fiscal third-quarter 2026 results were lifted by domestic parks and streaming, with the company releasing results on Aug. 5 and holding a webcast later that morning, according to its investor relations page.
The Experiences division, which includes theme parks, cruises, merchandise and video game licensing, posted operating income of $3.02 billion, up 20% from a year earlier, on revenue of $9.97 billion, AP reported. Domestic parks were the strongest part of the segment, with operating income rising 27% as U.S. attendance increased 3% and spending also rose.
That domestic strength contrasted with softer international tourism, according to AP's report. The company also said its streaming business improved, with revenue from Disney+ and Hulu rising 11% to $5.53 billion on more subscribers, higher prices and more advertising revenue, AP reported.
Disney earned $2.64 billion, or $1.51 per share, for the quarter. Adjusted earnings were $2.06 per share, above FactSet consensus cited by AP. Revenue rose 7% year over year to $25.25 billion.
By the numbers
- 27% - Increase in operating income at Disney's domestic parks.
- 3% - Year-over-year increase in U.S. attendance at domestic parks.
- 11% - Revenue growth for Disney+ and Hulu to $5.53 billion.
Yes, but: The quarter still showed a split: U.S. park demand was stronger than international tourism.
