TechCrunch reports Flipkart Minutes now handles an estimated 1.1 million to 1.2 million orders a day.

Why it matters: Flipkart is narrowing the gap with Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart in a market where scale depends on dense fulfillment and repeat usage. The growth also raises pressure on Amazon Now to keep building infrastructure as quick commerce becomes a bigger retail battleground.

  • TechCrunch reported on Aug. 22, 2026 that Flipkart Minutes is handling about 1.1 million to 1.2 million daily orders, up from roughly 390,000 to 400,000 in November 2025.
  • Flipkart launched Minutes in August 2024 and said on June 24, 2026 that it had reached 1,000 micro-fulfilment centres across 130+ cities and 8,000+ pincodes.
  • TechCrunch said the service is closing in on Swiggy Instamart’s estimated 1.4 million daily orders, while Blinkit and Zepto remain larger.
  • Amazon said on June 17, 2026 that Amazon Now was expanding to more than 100 Urban Fulfillment Centers after earlier announcing a move to 100 cities and more than 1,000 micro-fulfillment centers.

Walmart-owned Flipkart is gaining ground in India’s quick-commerce market, according to TechCrunch. The report said Flipkart Minutes is now handling about 1.1 million to 1.2 million orders a day, nearly triple the roughly 390,000 to 400,000 orders it was doing in November 2025.

Flipkart has also been expanding its delivery network. In a June 24, 2026 announcement, the company said Minutes had reached 1,000 micro-fulfilment centres across 130+ cities and 8,000+ pincodes in under two years. That scale matters because quick commerce depends on dense inventory placement and short delivery radiuses, not just app demand.

The comparison set, though, is not perfectly like-for-like. TechCrunch cited Swiggy Instamart at an estimated 1.4 million daily orders, while Swiggy’s August 2026 update said Instamart had over 14 million monthly transacting users across 130+ cities through 1,200+ dark stores. Monthly transacting users are not the same metric as daily orders, so the figures point to scale but do not provide a direct head-to-head read.

The same TechCrunch report cited Datum Intelligence estimates of 3.4 million to 3.6 million daily orders for Blinkit and 2.4 million to 2.6 million for Zepto, leaving Flipkart Minutes smaller but moving faster than many rivals. Satish Meena, adviser at Datum Intelligence, told TechCrunch: "Flipkart is already a serious player."

Amazon is also pushing harder. Its India press center said on June 17, 2026 that Amazon Now was expanding to more than 100 Urban Fulfillment Centers after previously announcing a move to 100 cities and more than 1,000 micro-fulfillment centers. The broader market remains defined by infrastructure buildout, order frequency and delivery speed.

By the numbers

  • 1.1 million-1.2 million - Estimated daily orders TechCrunch says Flipkart Minutes is now handling.
  • 1,000 - Micro-fulfilment centres Flipkart said Minutes had reached by June 24, 2026.
  • 3.4 million-3.6 million - Daily orders Datum Intelligence estimated for Blinkit, per TechCrunch.

Yes, but: The key order figure comes from a TechCrunch report based on unnamed sources, so it should be treated as an estimate rather than a verified company disclosure.
