Nvidia unveiled a factory-built Vera Rubin system designed for deployment in as little as 14 days.

Why it matters: A faster installation timeline could help companies add AI capacity more quickly as data-center demand rises. The estimate is conditional: sites still need power, cooling, networking and other infrastructure ready.

  • Nvidia says DSX Pod can reduce deployment at a prepared site from about six months to as little as 14 days.
  • The design moves rack installation, cabling, power wiring, piping and validation into a manufacturing facility.
  • CNBC reports that one shipping-container-sized DSX Pod combines seven Vera Rubin racks; Nvidia has not disclosed whether that is a complete or standard Vera Rubin system.
  • Nvidia says worldwide DSX Pod deliveries through partners are expected to begin in early 2027.

Nvidia announced DSX Pod, a factory-built reference design for Vera Rubin AI infrastructure. The system is integrated and validated inside modular containers before delivery.

The company says the approach can cut deployment time at a prepared site from approximately six months to as little as 14 days, allowing customers to begin serving AI workloads sooner. Jensen Huang, Nvidia's founder and CEO, said an AI factory creates value when it begins producing output, rather than when construction is complete.

DSX Pod moves rack installation, rack-to-rack cabling, power wiring, piping, liquid-cooling integration and functional validation from the customer site to a manufacturing facility. After delivery, the compute container connects to prepared power, cooling and networking infrastructure. Nvidia's technical documentation describes an 800-volt direct-current design at the core-container boundary.

CNBC reports that the shipping-container-sized unit combines seven Vera Rubin racks and can be moved by truck. That seven-rack description applies to the DSX Pod configuration reported by CNBC, not necessarily to a complete or standard Vera Rubin system. Nvidia has not disclosed the exact rack composition, GPU count, total power draw or cooling load for that configuration.

The system does not eliminate site preparation. Customers still need land, foundations and connections to power, facility water, cooling and networks. Nvidia says partners including Dell Technologies, HPE, Lenovo, Schneider Electric and Vertiv are working toward worldwide deliveries beginning in early 2027.

By the numbers

  • 14 days - Nvidia's shortest stated deployment estimate at a prepared site
  • Six months - Approximate deployment time Nvidia says DSX Pod could replace
  • 800 volts - Direct-current design described at the core-container boundary

Yes, but: The 14-day estimate covers installation at a site with core infrastructure already prepared. Nvidia has not disclosed the seven-rack configuration's full specifications, including GPU count, power draw or cooling load.

What's next: Nvidia says worldwide DSX Pod deliveries through partners are expected to begin in early 2027.
