NBCUniversal is raising Peacock prices across all U.S. plans starting Aug. 18.

Why it matters: The move underscores how streaming companies are prioritizing profitability and pricing discipline. It also adds another bill pressure point for consumers already facing subscription inflation.

  • The new prices take effect for new customers on Aug. 18, 2026, and for many existing customers on or after their next billing date.
  • Peacock currently lists U.S. plans at $7.99 a month for Select, $10.99 for Premium and $16.99 for Premium Plus.
  • Comcast said July 23 that Peacock posted its first quarterly profit, with $189 million in adjusted EBITDA and 48 million paid subscribers.
  • NBCUniversal said in late July that Peacock Premium will be bundled with YouTube Premium in early 2027 and sold separately via YouTube Primetime Channels later this summer.

NBCUniversal is raising Peacock subscription prices across all plans in the U.S., marking the streamer’s fourth increase in four years. The change starts Aug. 18 for new customers and will hit many existing subscribers on or after their next billing date, according to Peacock’s help center.

The current U.S. pricing on Peacock’s plans page shows Select at $7.99 a month or $79.99 a year, Premium at $10.99 a month or $109.99 a year, and Premium Plus at $16.99 a month or $169.99 a year on the official site.

The increase comes just weeks after Comcast said on July 23 that Peacock turned profitable for the first time, reporting $189 million in adjusted EBITDA for the quarter and 48 million paid subscribers, up 2 million net additions in the period. Reuters reported that the first profit was helped by the FIFA World Cup and Love Island USA. Comcast’s earnings materials described the quarter as the moment Peacock "achieved quarterly profitability for the first time ever."

NBCUniversal is also widening distribution. In late July, the company said Peacock Premium would be included in a bundle with YouTube Premium beginning in early 2027, and offered separately as an add-on through YouTube Primetime Channels later in the summer. Matt Strauss, chairman of NBCUniversal’s Media Group, said the agreement would help Peacock "accelerate its next phase of growth."

By the numbers

  • $189 million - Peacock's adjusted EBITDA in Q2 2026, Comcast said
  • 48 million - Peacock paid subscribers as of Q2 2026
  • 4 - Peacock price increases in four years

Yes, but: The price hike follows Peacock's first quarterly profit, but the service is still leaning on higher prices and distribution deals rather than subscriber growth alone.

What's next: The new pricing takes effect Aug. 18 for new customers. Peacock Premium also is set to appear in YouTube Primetime Channels later this summer and in a YouTube Premium bundle in early 2027.
