Salesforce raised fiscal 2027 guidance after AI demand and an Anthropic-related investment gain.

Why it matters: The results show how enterprise AI demand is affecting Salesforce's outlook, while also highlighting how strategic AI investments can move earnings. The expanded Anthropic deal gives investors another read on where Salesforce is trying to deepen its AI pitch.

  • Salesforce raised fiscal 2027 revenue guidance to $46.1 billion-$46.4 billion and adjusted EPS guidance to $16.67-$16.71.
  • The company said quarterly profit included an approximately $2.6 billion gain tied in part to its Anthropic stake.
  • Salesforce and Anthropic expanded their partnership to embed Claude across Salesforce, Slack and Agentforce workflows.
  • Reuters reported Salesforce shares rose about 13% in extended trading after the forecast increase and partnership news.

Salesforce reported fiscal second-quarter 2027 results on Aug. 26 and said it sees stronger full-year results after AI-related momentum in the business. In its earnings release, the company raised full-year revenue guidance to $46.1 billion-$46.4 billion and adjusted EPS guidance to $16.67-$16.71.

The company also said results benefited from gains in its strategic investment portfolio, including an approximately $2.6 billion gain tied in part to its Anthropic stake. Reuters reported that adjusted earnings more than doubled to $5.90 per share, while Salesforce said it is not assuming any change in the value of its strategic investment portfolio because future gains and losses cannot be forecast reliably. Salesforce's fiscal Q2 2027 earnings release laid out the updated outlook.

Salesforce and Anthropic also said they are expanding their partnership in a deal they are calling Claudeforce. The companies said Claude will be embedded across Salesforce, Slack and Agentforce workflows. Salesforce said Salesforce in Claude will be available to select pilot customers immediately, with an open beta planned for September 2026.

Salesforce Chair and CEO Marc Benioff said, "We’re bringing together the world's #1 AI and #1 CRM - the best of both worlds." Anthropic CEO and co-founder Dario Amodei said, "Salesforce in Claude brings this same frontier intelligence into the systems where much of the world's commercial activity happens." Reuters reported Salesforce shares rose about 13% in extended trading after the company lifted forecasts and announced the expanded AI partnership with Anthropic.

  • $16.67-$16.71 - Salesforce's raised fiscal 2027 adjusted EPS guidance.
  • About $2.6 billion - Gain the company said it booked from its strategic investment portfolio, including part of its Anthropic stake.

Yes, but: The company said future gains and losses from its strategic investment portfolio are not predictable, so the Anthropic-linked boost may not repeat.
