Trump Media plans paid Truth Social data feed for institutions

Trump Media is launching Truth API, a paid feed of Truth Social posts for institutional customers.

Why it matters: The product gives traders and data buyers faster access to social posts that can affect prices. It also creates a new market-data product built around politically relevant communications, raising questions about speed, access and potential information asymmetry.

  • Trump Media announced Truth API on July 16, 2026, with a planned Aug. 1 launch.
  • The feed will provide real-time access to posts from the 10 most influential Truth Social accounts.
  • Axios reported several customers have already signed up, including financial news organizations and high-frequency trading firms.
  • AP reported the service could let Wall Street firms see posts in milliseconds.

Trump Media & Technology Group is moving into data licensing with a paid real-time feed called Truth API. Reuters reported the service is aimed at financial firms and trading firms that want faster access to posts from Truth Social accounts.

Axios reported interim CEO Kevin McGurn said the company had already signed several customers before the planned Aug. 1 launch, including financial news organizations and high-frequency trading firms. The initial feed includes Donald Trump, the White House, FBI Director Kash Patel, White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Axios reported Trump Media wants to sell access to the platform's most influential accounts.

AP reported the feed is intended to let Wall Street firms see posts from top Truth Social contributors in milliseconds. AP also reported Trump Media declined to say whether Trump’s own posts would be excluded. Reuters reported the feed is meant for businesses tracking Truth Social posts, while AP reported Trump's posts have already moved markets on topics including tariffs, trade restrictions and Iran. AP

Kathleen Clark, a Washington University School of Law professor who studies government ethics, said: "He’s selling expedited, privileged access to information about what he is doing as president."

AP also reported the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust holds roughly 114.75 million shares, about 41% of outstanding stock, while TMTG stock has fallen more than 70% since Trump took office, erasing about $6 billion in shareholder wealth.

By the numbers

  • 10 - the number of the most influential Truth Social accounts in the initial feed
  • Aug. 1 - planned launch date for Truth API
  • 114.75 million - shares held by the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, according to AP

Yes, but: Trump Media has not said whether Trump’s own posts will be excluded from the feed.
