A new filing shows MAGA Inc. started September with $415.8 million in cash, after limited midterm spending.

Why it matters: Trump’s outside spending is likely to shape Republican campaign strategy, ad buys and which races get national attention. The timing of that money matters for candidates and allied groups planning the 2026 midterms.

  • MAGA Inc. reported $415.8 million in cash on hand at the start of September, after raising about $23.7 million and spending $11.4 million in August.
  • The FEC said the committee had $403,450,026.85 in cash on hand and $400,684,172.17 in total receipts at the end of the July 31 reporting period.
  • AP reported Sept. 5 that MAGA Inc. committed $10 million to television and digital advertising in the Texas Senate race.
  • AP reported Sept. 16 that Trump-aligned groups had reserved more than $130 million in advertising, including $27 million from Safety and Affordability PAC.

MAGA Inc. started September with $415.8 million in cash on hand, according to a new filing, after raising about $23.7 million and spending $11.4 million in August. The filing comes after the FEC committee page showed the group ended the July 31 reporting period with $403,450,026.85 in cash on hand and $400,684,172.17 in total receipts.

Trump has said he wants to use the money to help Republicans in the midterms, but the pace of spending has been modest so far. In August, he said he had raised about $850 million for political purposes overall and described the funds as separate from money controlled by the Republican National Committee. AP reported those remarks.

The clearest move so far has been Texas, where MAGA Inc. committed $10 million to television and digital advertising in the Senate race, according to AP’s Sept. 5 report. AP described it as the group’s first major spending in a general-election race.

AP also reported on Sept. 1 that MAGA Inc. had spent about $830,000 on South Carolina Republican nomination spending. Then on Sept. 16, AP said Trump-aligned groups had reserved more than $130 million in advertising, including $27 million from Safety and Affordability PAC, which AP said is affiliated with MAGA Inc. AP’s later report tracked those reservations.

James Blair, who leads Trump’s midterm political operation, said: "When it’s all said and done, all Republicans, at least, will be quite pleased and relieved at the support they find."

By the numbers

  • $415.8 million - MAGA Inc. cash on hand at the start of September.
  • $11.4 million - MAGA Inc. spending in August.
  • More than $130 million - Trump-aligned ad reservations AP reported on Sept. 16.

Yes, but: MAGA Inc.’s cash balance is large, but AP’s reporting shows only part of that money has been deployed so far.
