Verda raised $189 million in a Series B led by Emergence Capital.

Why it matters: The funding gives Verda more capital to add compute capacity and push its AI cloud into new markets. It also adds a fresh data point on investor demand for infrastructure providers serving AI workloads.

  • Verda, formerly DataCrunch, announced the funding on 2026-09-22.
  • The round totaled $189 million (€163 million) and was led by Emergence Capital.
  • Other investors included MUFG Innovation Partners, Supermicro, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, Lifeline Ventures, ENDUR, 6 Degrees Capital, byFounders, Tesi, plus angels Ola Tørudbakken and Mark Saroufim.
  • Verda said the financing lifts total funding to over $450 million and follows a July 2026 revenue run rate of $165 million.

Verda, the Helsinki-headquartered full-stack AI cloud company formerly known as DataCrunch, said the new financing will support compute expansion and product development. The company said it operates across Europe, the U.S. and Asia, with data centers live in Finland and additional capacity planned in Europe, the UK, the U.S. and Asia. Verda's announcement

The company said it reached a $165 million annualized revenue run rate in July 2026 and employs about 250 people. Verda also said its customer base spans more than 50 countries and that it plans to exceed 250 MW of operations in 2027. Customer update

Sifted reported that the deal values Verda as one of Europe’s notable AI infrastructure companies and said the round follows earlier funding extended by the Nordic Investment Bank. Sifted's report

Ruben Bryon, Verda's founder and CEO, said: "AI is becoming critical infrastructure across industries, and the next few years are a pivotal window for Europe." Emergence Capital General Partner Joe Floyd said: "Demand for AI compute is insatiable, and the gap between demand and supply is growing."

By the numbers

  • $189 million - size of Verda's Series B round.
  • $165 million - July 2026 annualized revenue run rate claimed by Verda.
  • 50+ countries - size of Verda's customer footprint, according to the company.

Yes, but: Verda did not disclose a post-money valuation, and some of the growth figures come from company statements rather than independent filings.

What's next: Verda said the new capital will fund further capacity expansion and product development, with more operations planned for 2027.
