Job Description:The Academic Department Manager (ADM) provides high-level and critical leadership and direction for the Department.  The ADM manages the financial, administrative, and human resources operations, ensuring that financial and administrative practices conform to University policies. The ADM develops and implements internal procedures and protocols and plays a critical leadership role in support of budget management and analysis, supervises administrative staff, student affairs, grants/gifts/endowments administration, works closely with chair on issues related to curriculum and course management, and performs other miscellaneous activities related to the management of the Department and program.The ADM works closely with the Department Chair to facilitate short and long-range strategic planning and the allocation of financial and budgetary activities. The position supports the Department Chair regarding the articulation of policies, protocols, and other communications to staff and faculty.The ADM serves as the principal administrative liaison to faculty, students and administrators across departments and offices within the University, cultivating strong relationships with campus affiliates, as well as local and international constituencies.Education and Experience●        Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 3 years of related experience in an academic department setting or equivalent combination of education and experience. ●        Experience with grant administration required. ●        Strong financial management experience required, including budgeting and forecasting.●        Experience working in higher education is preferred.●        Supervisory experience preferred. ●        Excellent financial management skills.●        Strong staff management skills required, i.e. hiring, supervision, employee evaluation, and salary review.●        Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership skills.●        Proficiency in financial data analysis, planning, and accounting.●        Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to assess priorities and pivot in response to pressing departmental needs.●        Strong verbal and written communication skills.●        Excellent computer skills with a strong aptitude for learning new systems.●        Highly proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Google platform (Gmail, google docs and google sheets), Workday and Zoom or other video conferencing.●      &...
