Adjunct Faculty – California Multiple Subject Credential/MAT Programs

Position Overview

Adjunct faculty within the University of Massachusetts Global’s School of Education play a vital role in delivering high-quality, student-centered instruction in an online learning environment. They bring real-world expertise and a commitment to fostering academic excellence for future educators and leaders. Adjunct instructors must be willing to engage with faculty, students, and other stakeholders to ensure well-rounded, rigorous learning experiences that offer students the highest levels of support. This position requires a California teaching credential and current California K-8 public school teaching experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility 1: Teaching duties, mentoring, or supervising students.
  • Responsibility 2: Preparing and delivering course content or assessments.
  • Responsibility 3: Collaborating with faculty or staff for curriculum planning.
  • Responsibility 4: Utilizing specific technologies or tools (e.g., LMS, video platforms).
  • Responsibility 5: Attending required meetings, training, or development sessions.
  • Responsibility 6: Holding virtual, weekly, open office hours for students.
  • Responsibility 7: Engaging in program review and assessment activities as needed.
  • Responsibility 8: Participating in calibration meetings relating to PLOs, CLOs, and Professional Dispositions

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or Higher in Education, Teaching and/or, Related Field
  • California (CA) Clear Multiple Subject/CLAD Credential
  • Minimum 5 years teaching experience in a California (K-8) schools.
  • Experience teaching diverse student populations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in education or an educational related field.
  • CA Administrative Credential.
  • Trained assessor of or extensive knowledge of CalTPAs.
