As an Engineering Manager, Product at Hiive, you will directly manage two product engineering teams — including the Engineering Leads and IC engineers on each. Each team runs as a triad of a PM, a Designer, and an Engineering Lead; you won't replace that structure, but you'll own the people leadership, delivery oversight, and prioritization support that today sits with the Director. This is a player-coach role: out of the critical path on roadmap, but close enough to the work to give real technical feedback and occasionally get hands-on yourself.

In this role, your responsibilities would include:

- Owning people leadership for two engineering teams. Managing both Engineering Leads and IC engineers, including 1:1s, performance reviews, and helping each person take on more scope and grow their career.

- Acting as a technical leader across both teams–shaping architecture and technical direction alongside the Engineering Lead and bringing scrutiny to significant technical decisions, while the Lead retains day-to-day technical ownership, mentorship, and accountability.

- Partnering with the Director to lead and develop the broader group of Engineering Leads in the group–and, as the team grows, with a peer group of fellow Engineering Managers.
