Together, we are building a sustainable future for local news. KING 5 is looking for a highly creative and experienced News Photojournalist to join our national award-winning Investigative Unit. Qualified candidates must create high-quality content within challenging news deadlines. We are seeking an individual with strong organizational skills who can also work as a de facto producer within the unit. The successful candidate will be someone who can take strong ownership of the investigative product.This photojournalist will be expected to manage multiple projects at the same time as they work with our two veteran Investigative reporters. This candidate will routinely set up and operate multiple cameras on their own.This is an IATSE-union represented position.Responsibilities:· Capture video and audio elements to craft compelling and impactful Investigative news, for both our linear AND streaming platforms.· Collaborate with reporters to develop a cohesive vision for stories.· High proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, & Photoshop) to create compelling visual graphics.· Independently gather and create stories, showcasing your creativity and journalistic prowess.· Generate digital content, edit vertical videos daily for our digital and streaming apps.· Produce streaming specials including creating dynamic bold opens, backtiming the shows and organizing break structures.Operate live remote equipment. (Dejero, LiveU)Preferred Minimum Requirements· 5+ years of relevant experience in TV photojournalism and/or news editing, OR 3+ years of relevant experience coupled with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.· Possession of a valid driver’s license, with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 80 pounds, with or without accommodation.· Flexibility to work mornings, nights, holidays, and weekends.Additional or Preferred Qualifications· FAA Part 107 Pilot’s license with experience operating a drone for newsgathering· Competency in operating mirrorless cameras (Sony FS7 and a7s series).Compensation and Benefits We are offering competitive pay along with benefits. This position is full-time, hourly, and IATSE union.
