Key responsibilities include: ● Provide general direction and overall coordination with Operations and Technical Support for all plant maintenance activities. Ensure that maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, in a cost effective manner and within technical specifications. ● Provide leadership to subordinate supervisors by directing their overall work, providing coaching and feedback, and facilitating their professional development. Ensure that performance is managed throughout the Maintenance Department by developing performance indices and reinforcing the employee evaluation process. ● Ensure a safe working environment by working with plant leadership to identify opportunities to improve employee safety performance and working conditions, enhance job safety briefings, and serve on safety steering committees. ● Maintain a positive relationship with Local 148, fully leverage the contract, and participate in the grievance process as necessary. ● Advocate for Corporate initiatives and hold personnel and processes accountable to regulatory requirements and Corporate policy/procedures. ● Participate on and/or lead special projects/teams designed to improve performance or address problems. Continuously assess current maintenance process to reduce waste and eliminate weak points. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree with 5 or more years of applicable maintenance experience required. Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred. A High School Diploma and 10 or more years of applicable maintenance experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science degree. Power plant maintenance experience is preferred. Five or more years of supervisory experience is required. Up to two years of direct contractor supervision may be considered as supervisory experience.
