ROLE TITLE: Managing Director, Program POSITION REPORTS TO: VP, Strategy & Campaign LeadershipAPPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis through August 9, 2026 LOCATION: The Michigan team’s office is in Detroit. The role will require on-site work with educators in communities across Michigan, on average, 3-4 times per month. WHAT YOU’LL DOTeachMichigan, powered by TFA Detroit, seeks an exceptional leader to shape and continuously strengthen our educator development strategy, ensuring educators and school leaders are equipped to accelerate student outcomes and build thriving school communities across Michigan. This role serves as the architect of TeachMichigan's educator development model, leading the design and continuous improvement of coaching systems, professional learning, leadership development, and educator pathways that advance our 2030 goal.As a strategic leader, you will partner closely with school and district leaders to strengthen educator effectiveness within proof point schools, ensuring coaching, learning experiences, and leadership development are responsive to local needs and grounded in evidence of what drives student success. You will lead TeachMichigan's coaching strategy, cultivate high-quality educator communities, and leverage educator, coaching, and student outcome data to continuously refine our approach and scale practices that improve instructional excellence, educator retention, and long-term impact.This role extends beyond designing programs. You will help shape the future of educator development in Michigan by connecting learning, coaching, community, and continuous improvement into a cohesive statewide strategy. Through cross-functional leadership, innovation, and strong partnerships, you will strengthen TeachMichigan's educator talent continuum while positioning our organization as a national leader in educator development, coaching, and talent strategy.WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOREducator Development, Coaching & Proof Point Strategy (50%)Lead TeachMichigan's educator development strategy across the educator continuum, designing and continuously improving coaching systems, learning experiences, leadership development, and educator pathways that strengthen instructional excellence and improve student outcomes.Lead the organization's coaching strategy, including coach development, coaching quality, implementation, and continuous improvement to ensure educators receive high-quality, evidence-based support.Partner with school and district leaders to align coaching, professional learning, and educator supports to the priorities of proof point schools, strengthening school teams and contributing to measurable gains in student achievement, attendance, and postsecondary readiness.Design and facilitate high-impact learning experiences that build educator and leader capacity in instructional excellence, adult learning, leadership, data-informed decision-making, and conti...
