Job DescriptionThe Montgomery College, WDCE Gaithersburg Business Training Center, is currently accepting applications for possible openings as a part-time faculty member teaching in the Motorcycle Safety Program. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner. ***Montgomery College accepts applications for Adjunct/Part-time Faculty on a continuous basis. Applications may be reviewed periodically based on the student enrollment needs. ***The listing of a course in the schedule of classes as “TBA” does not constitute an assignment.The hiring decision for part-time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management’s sole discretion.Duties and Responsibilities:Teach Motorcycle Safety Program classes.Engage with students in an in-person class environment.Adhere to the Montgomery College curriculum and course outcomes.Manage classroom attendance, evaluate student performance, record grades, and submit administrative records in a timely manner.Provide clear and supportive instruction to students of all experience levels.Maintain a professional, safe, and orderly learning environment and comply with Montgomery College policies and guidelines.Maintain regular communication with Montgomery College Motorcycle Safety Program staff.Participate in periodic instructor meetings, as needed. Required Qualifications:Motorcycle Safety Foundation credentials/certificates (Basic Rider Course 2, BRC2u-LW completion certificate (for teaching BRC2-LW).Certification by the MD MVA (obtained within 6 months of employment)Must possess a valid MD motorcycle license with a clean riding record.Minimum of 5 years of recent motorcycle riding experience.Basic motorcycle handling and maintenance knowledge.Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment and must be willing to contribute to the Colleges strategic plan of inclusion.Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus)*.
