OVERVIEW Are you an experienced Senior Database Administrator with practical working knowledge in both Azure cloud and either Snowflake or with Tableau Server, Power BI Server and SSRS Server?Are you a Senior Database Administrator that is passionate about building the SQL platforms that enable Business Intelligence?Join Multnomah County as a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to lead our transition from on-premise servers to a modern cloud architecture. We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to ensure our data systems are secure, optimized, and ready for the future. In this role, you will: ● Keep things running: You will manage our sql servers and databases every day, making sure they have enough space and are set up correctly for our team to use. ● Lead our move to the cloud: You’ll help us redesign how we store data, shifting from older on-site setups to modern cloud technology like Azure and Snowflake. ● Protect our data: You will design the plans for backing up information and making sure we can get it back quickly if something goes wrong. ● Fix and improve: You’ll spend time finding bottlenecks that slow us down and fixing them so everything runs as fast as possible. ● Help the team: You’ll be a mentor for other IT staff, helping them solve tricky coding problems or teaching them how to use new database tools.● Stay updated: You will keep our software safe by installing the latest updates and patches, and you’ll keep learning about new trends in technology .● Work on Snowflake projects: You will work with our project teams to move business intelligence data from our on prem SQL Servers to our Snowflake platform.As a person, you are: ● Service-minded: You believe in acting with integrity and making sure our work helps everyone in the community fairly. ● A great communicator: You can take complicated technical ideas and explain them clearly to teammates and other departments. ● A natural learner: You are curious and adapt quickly when technology changes. ● A careful problem-solver: You don't just look for a quick fix; you find the root cause of the issue and you look at the whole picture to find the best long-term solution. ● A team player: You enjoy building relationships and working side-by-side with others to get the job done.
