This position will be fully remote and can be hired anywhere in the continental U.S. Per client requirements this role requires a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check, including fingerprinting. Additionally, U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this role. Optiv is seeking a Sr. Palo Alto Engineer to join Optiv Security’s 24x7x365 Security Operations Center as a member of the Advanced Fusion Center (AFC) team. The Optiv AFC line of business consists of providing security operations expertise to a robust and growing client base. Our team is comprised of highly technical individuals capable of delivering managed services to clients in all industry verticals. The Optiv AFC specializes in custom-tailored security solutions delivered primarily through three practice teams: Client Engagement, Engineering Operations, and Detection and Response Operations. These teams work in tandem to assist our clients in reaching their security maturity goals. The Sr. Palo Alto Engineer will be responsible for following Optiv AFC processes & procedures, as well as managing and maintaining security systems across internal and client environments. The Sr. Palo Alto Engineer will work closely with Management, Solution Architects, Principal Security Engineers from other internal teams and clients to complete high profile, critical services to existing AFC clients. They will serve as a primary responder for AFC customer systems, taking ownership of client configuration issues, and tracking through resolution. How you'll make an impact Able to solo deliver or act as "point" for complex projects/requests. Acts as technical escalation point to assist junior engineers. Lead in capacity planning and HW specification recommendation efforts. Lead in all deployment and management activities, connector configuration, custom rule development, workflow configuration and development, and third-party system integration. Lead User Acceptance Testing and bug-related engineering efforts. Provide knowledge transfer and post production support activities as necessary. Effective team communicator. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional associations such as ISSA. Obtain and maintain top tier vendor certification and accreditation. Complete administrative project tasks like time and expense entry, status reporting, and project completion reporting. Acts as contributor in Optiv communities for solutions of focus. Develop and maintain runbooks/procedural documentation.
