Controlled Substance Clerk, Shipping

Position Summary:Under direct supervision, a Controlled Substance Clerk in the Shipping area of the warehouse is responsible for performing a variety of tasks that facilitate the physical movement of shipments into or out of the facility on behalf of a retailer or manufacturer. The Controlled Substance Clerk position requires high attention to detail and ability to read, understand and follow standard operating procedures specific to this positionPrimary Accountabilities:For a Shipping ClerkProcess boxes or packages in the shipping stations that are ready to be releasedPhysically locate and pick each box included on an invoice for ship or destroyScan the outbox label to update the inventory databasePrint and attach shipping labels and log carrier tracking numbersPhysically locate and pick each invoice for ship or destroy out of the database and the facility.Follow instructions for handling any discrepancies notedAlways maintain a clean and orderly workstation and areaAdditional Responsibilities:Performs other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standardsRequired Qualifications:High School diploma (or its equivalent) required 1-3 years work experience in a warehouse or production job; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the responsibilities of this position requiredLegally authorized to work in the U.S.Able to follow standard operation and safety proceduresAble to work in an environment that is not climate controlledAble to push a cart or hand truck up to 100 yards; able to use a pallet jackAble to work under time pressure and meet production goals; able to work more than 8 hours per day (over-time) as neededAble to handle hazardous waste materials with appropriate safety measuresPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the major job responsibilities (essential functions) of this job.
