By joining us, you’ll play a key part in protecting consumers, driving economic growth, and shaping the future of UK finance services.Sitting within the Specialist Directorate, the Resolution Strategy, Operations & CASS (ReSOC) department leads the FCA’s efforts to enhance client asset protection -thereby boosting consumer protection and market integrity -through risk assessment, data analysis, and supervision of firms’ compliance with the Client Assets Sourcebook. The department includes the Client Asset Safeguarding and Resolution Policy and Strategy team.In the team, you will join a group of dedicated policy professionals who are focused on shaping creative, pragmatic and evidence-based policy solutions to help protect consumers, support economic growth, and shape the future of UK financial services. The team focusses on developing and maintaining the regulatory framework that helps to keep customer assets safe when they are held by financial services firms and to minimise the harm caused by such firms’ failure.Some examples of the team’s current and recent work include developing a custody regime for crypto assets, introducing a payment safeguarding regime, and producing guidance for insolvency practitioners on how to approach regulated firms. Role responsibilities This role is an exciting opportunity to work on key Client Asset Safeguarding & Resolution policy issues for the FCA. In contributing to this work, you will have opportunity to:Gather intelligence and information and apply and build your analytical skills, and creativity to help identify policy issues and develop solutions that help to keep customers’ assets and money (including in digital form) safe and to minimise harm when firms failHave a chance to help address emerging challenges and ensure our approach to client asset safeguarding and resolution is fit to meet current and emerging challenges – including through the team’s work on digital assets which is a key area of focusApply and enhance your technical skills in client asset safeguarding and/or resolution and provide policy input on CASS-related queries and rule modifications/waiversGain experience in and help to m...
